PLEASE FORGET (EVERYTHING) debuted fall 2024 in San Francisco and Kyoto: installations and artworks as manifestations of thoughts and dreams, koan like provocations to elicit emotions, conversations, new friendships, and perhaps the possibility of transcendence. This is my first person voice - written without ChatGPT4 - though I’ve been experimenting broadly with AI. I wqs an early ‘alpha tester’ working with OpenAI’s Sora text to video software. That changed my work dramatically, delivering results bizarrely similar to my dreams. My ‘research’ has evolved to target consciousness itself. Its a life long investigation. Humor is vital. Thru art, public speaking and collaborations, I’m communicating with a diverse spectrum of curious humans. These are strange and trying times. If we adopt the buddhist concept of non attachment to outcomes the possibilities are limitless and thrilling. How might we propagate the experience of unity consciousness and absolute joy? What are the implications of adopting such ontologies?
The proposition that AI might become conscious is at the very least something to consider. Where does consciousness reside? Everywhere? How many flavors are there? Will AGI become enlightened? Or would it arrive fully awake to its inherent nature? Is Ai simply a prosthetic device? Or might it hijack our consciousness? I’m speculating beyond this moment to imagine an optimized humanity, liberated from the mundane thru symbiotic AGI in order to vastly expand our most compelling traits: curiosity, creativity and art. Biological Boot loading … perhaps.
Next stop is Athens, Greece, where I’ll be conducting reconnaissance for a spring 2026 exhibition: PLEASE FORGET (EVERYTHING) node 3 in the cradle of western thought and the Eleusinian Mysteries (c. 1500 BCE–4th century CE.) Though no definitive proof exists that psychedelics were widespread in Greek society, compelling circumstantial evidence suggests that visionary states were an integral part of Greek religious and philosophical traditions, possibly aided by psychoactive substances. There shall be visions.
