NEW AND IN PROCESS
OPPOSED PARKING METERS
Two modified yellow Amano parking meters face one another across a museum-scale Zen garden. Raked gravel, a central rock and irregular stepping stones invite visitors into the space between them. Conceived as a site-responsive installation for PLEASE FORGET (EVERYTHING), the proposed garden extends approximately forty meters.
FUGITIVES
A one-of-a-kind PLEASE FORGET (EVERYTHING) oversized artist’s book, hoop bound, produced in Greece, whose images are deliberately fugitive, intended to fade, quickly. Light, time, handling and atmosphere become collaborators: the work changes as it is encountered. Pages are translucent, photographic and drawn on. Layered. Tactile. Ephemeral.
Selected images from this one-of-a-kind book will be offered as larger individual prints.
CARPET SCANNER
A prototype optical instrument built to read selected historic carpets as encoded surfaces. Custom firmware extracts information from weave, wear and recurrent symbols—including forms echoing symbolic inscriptions found at Göbekli and Karahan Tepe—into image and sound. The scanner searches for information carried through pattern, touch, and time. Music emerges. Curiously inter-active. A machine approaching sentience, exhibiting a form of wisdom, perhaps. Maintain humor. See You in Athens.

RECIPES FOR THE MIND
Photographs, lucid dreams, and feverish word clouds from an off-the-beaten-path life. These 108 images travel from photograph to hand-altered print, into the digital, and back again—bending time, memory, and the occasional rule.

CARBON merges the aesthetics of space exploration and scientific imaging with the interpretation of abstract symbols. I’m interested in extremophiles, the origins of life on earth, and what forms sentience might assume elsewhere in the universe. Would we recognize it hovering in front of us? What began with a camera-less method I discovered while experimenting with photograms, and drawing, has grown into immersive environments including large stills, video, multi-point sound and inter-active sculptures. Fifteen years after it's inception CARBON is now available in book form. Thank you to publisher Michelle Dunn Marsh, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, Jill Tarter and the SETI Institute, Lyle Rexer, Chris Allan at Bridge Photographic, Peter Raymond / Human Condition, and all the collaborators and supporters who encouraged the process. I'm about to produce an edition of small prints. The larger photographs, unique stainless steel books, and videos are available in small editions. Book available here from MinorMattersBooks.com
